Biography
Willyn Whiting (He/Him) is a Canadian composer of Concert Music who was born in 1993, in Winnipeg (MB).
Willyn holds a Bachelor's Degree in Composition from the University of Toronto (ON) and a Master's Degree in Composition from the University of Western Ontario (ON). He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in the same field at the University of North Texas (TX).
His compositional practice is often assisted (otherwise informed) by techniques of Spectral Analysis and Algorithmic Design. These techniques serve to conceal, disguise and explore the larger topic of Process. They also encourage a liberal approach to the role of technology in art.
