Biography

Félix Turrión Eichler (born 2000) is a composer and oboist studying with Ivan Podyomov (principal oboist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra). As a soloist, Félix has performed works by R. Strauss, J. S. Bach and Ó. Navarro, most notably with the Luxembourg Philharmonic. Since 2018, he is a regular substitute player in this orchestra, the Luxembourg Chamber Orchestra and others. He has studied at the Conservatories of Luxembourg, Liège and Lucerne.

As a composer, he was awarded the first prize of the international composition competition Artistes en Herbe in Luxembourg, and was ranked highest at the Busan Maru International Composition Competition in South Korea. He has studied contemporary and historical composition with teachers such as Claude Lenners and Michel Fourgon. His solo, chamber music and electro acoustic works have been premiered, among other venues, at the Philharmonie Luxembourg.

Félix has recently founded his own publishing company Turrión Eichler Music, shipping his works to Europe, America, and Japan. He is now working on a piece commissioned by Zsolt Bognár, concert pianist and host of Living the Classical Life.

His most prominent work, RESILIENCE – Concerto for Oboe & Symphony Orchestra, has received international attention:
