Biography
A recording artist for GRAMMY-winning Navona Records and a graduate of the prestigious Juilliard School, composer and pianist Christopher Jessup is one of the foremost musicians of his generation. Jessup’s compositions and performances have garnered international acclaim, with critics praising his “…imaginative handling of atmosphere…” [Fanfare Magazine] and his “…high standard of technique…” [New York Concert Review]. Furthermore, he has performed at Carnegie Hall over a dozen times and appeared as a soloist with distinguished orchestras all over the world.
Jessup’s compositions have been recorded by The Juilliard Orchestra, The Brno Contemporary Orchestra, pianist Hélène Grimaud, cellist Jeffrey Zeigler, and countless others. His choral works have been performed by choirs in London, New York, and San Francisco. Jessup's music is published internationally by Noten Roehr Frankfurt, Sacred Music Publishing, and J.W. Pepper. In addition to his work with Navona Records and an extensive independent discography, Jessup has recorded for RMN Classical, a London-based record label.
Jessup studied under the tutelage of Melinda Wagner and Jerome Lowenthal at The Juilliard School, graduating with high honors in 2021.
