Biography
Federico Piccolo began studying piano at the age of 11. In 2009 he began studying composition at the “G.F. Ghedini ” Conservatory in Cuneo under the guidance of Maestro P. Minetti.
In 2012 he shared the victory of the audience award within the "National Arts Award" with the song "Eyes at Once" written by Esther Frassica and arranged by him. In April 2013 he was a finalist in the "Festival Fiati", composition competition organized by the Novara Conservatory. In October 18 of the same year, on the occasion of the “Let it Beat” evening, an evening entirely dedicated to performances of arrangements of Beatles songs, he won the audience prize with his arrangement of “Eleanor Rigby” for orchestra. From September 2015 to June 2016 he attended the "Music Production for Games" course at Pulse College in Dublin, obtaining the relative diploma with the Award Classification, classification of merit. From March 2014 to June 2017 he held the position of Choir Director of the "Compagnia Musicale Cuneese", a choir specializing in popular repertoire, and that of the "Polifonico del Monserrato. In 2017 he obtained his Master degree in composition with full marks at the “G.F. Ghedini ” Conservatory.
He doesn’t identify with a specific style of composition but likes to experiment and blend all the techniques.
He is currently a Composition Teacher at the “Ego Bianchi” Music High School. His artistic activity sees him mainly engaged as a composer of soundtracks for short films, documentaries, advertising. Of particular importance is the ongoing collaboration with the directors Raffaele Massano, Chetan Kolker and Giacomo Siciliani.
